Produced from carefully selected Sangiovese (97%) and Canaiolo (3%) grapes. Fermentation and maceration take place in concrete and steel tanks for approximately 18-20 days. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels and casks for a period ranging from 16 to 20 months, depending on the characteristics of the wine. After bottling, it is refined in glass for about 6 months. It is a wine for ageing that fully expresses the potential of the San Giusto a Rentennano terroir.

Riserva Le Baròncole 2022

Spring and first half of summer time were marked by a hot and dry climate trend. Such weather conditions were protracted till the 12th of August.

After that date, thanks to the arrival of various thunderstorms and currents of cooler air, this potentially critical drought situation rapidly changed for the best, allowing for a quick lymphatic recovery of the vines.

During the harvest period, we had a quite steady sunny weather with no excessive rains or extreme temperature changes.

All in all, a vintage of medium concentration, with a particularly intense fruit.

Grapes: Sangiovese 97% - Canaiolo 3%

Harvest: since 29th September to 4th October 2022

Yield for vine: 1,1 Kg

Length of fermentation and maceration on the skins: 15 days

Wood-ageing: 20 months in oak casks of 30 Hl capacity and French

tonneaux of 5 Hl and barriques of 2,25 Hl- 20% new oak.

Bottle ageing: 6 months

Bottled: since 21st to 23rd January 2025

Level sulphites: less than 100 mg per liter as required by organic laws.

First vintage of Le Baròncole in bottle 2000

Suitable for drinking: 2025/2032

Serving temperature: 17 - 18°

As this wine has been only lightly filtered. Some sediments may appear in the bottle.
