Produced from 100% Merlot grapes, sourced from vineyards particularly suited to the characteristics of the grape variety, harvested by hand at perfect ripeness later than is customary in the area. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks for about 18 days, followed by racking and pressing. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously. After initial racking, the wine is placed in French oak barriques for 20-22 months. Once bottled, it ages for several more months in glass.

La Ricolma 2022

Spring and the first half of summer were marked by a hot and dry weather such conditions were protracted untill the 12th of August.

Thanks to some thunderstorms with currents of cooler air, thereafter, this potentially

critical situation rapidly changed for the best, allowing for a rapid recovery of the

vines.

During the harvest we had a quite steady sunny weather with no excessive rains or

extreme temperature changes.

All in all, a vintage of medium concentration, with a particularly intense fruit.

Yield per plant: 0,9 Kg

Length of fermentation and maceration on the skins: 15 days

Wood-ageing: 22 months in french barriques (Allier, Nevers) of 225 liters.

Bottled: 24th January 2025

Level sulphites: less than 100 mg per liter as required by organic laws.

First produced in 1993

Suitable for drinking: 2025/2034 and beyond.

As this wine has been only lightly filtered. Some sediments may appear

in the bottle.
