IGT Toscana Rosso – Selection of Petit Verdot


Grape variety: pure Petit Verdot

Training system: single spurred cordon

Vinification: 20/25 days in new French oak barriques

Ageing: 18 months in new French oak barriques

Soil: medium-textured clay

Colour: clear almost crystal-clear intense ruby red colour with purple reflections.

Aromas: the nose is frank and fine, with hints of bergamot and black fruits such as blueberry, blackberry, combined with the herbaceousness of myrtle and Mediterranean scrub.
Prominent spicy notes such as pepper, concluding with soft notes of pastry and cocoa.

Taste: structured, warm wine with a nice freshness.
Tannin evident but velvety and enveloping, suggesting a long longevity. Very pleasant long and persistent finish.

Accompaniment: gnocco al ragù, pici with game ragù, wild boar, venison and jugged hare.
