The Sagrantino vine, cultivated for centuries exclusively in Montefalco, seems to have been brought there from Asia Minor by the followers of St. Francis.

This wine has been awarded the 'Gemma', an AIS recognition to those wines that have obtained the highest scores expressed in hundredths and that represent a careful selection among the excellences of the 'Quattro Viti' of the Italian Sommelier Association.

It is a selection of Sagrantino grapes that come from the eponymous vineyard.

A cru that differs due to the characteristics of the vineyard, facing east instead of south and with a richer soil, particularly in gravel.

Aromas of fresh cherry cross floral hints, violet in the foreground, and hints of flint with light spicy touches. In the mouth slightly sweet attack in which the fruit predominates, then the wine finds energy in a nice acid verve that makes the sip savory, fragrant and long, with full and crisp tannins to bring out its articulate and dense structure.

"After selecting picotendro, a local Nebbiolo variety, for two generations, we now hand-select each bunch of grapes during the harvest to create this wine with respect for nature and our work".
